Tidur tak lena, feeling nauseous, unconscious of the surrounding, sorrowfulness, devastated but it is not like I can do anything about it.
The 13th General Election was held on the 5th of May 2013 and Malaysians have witnessed again how Barisan Nasional continued their 57 years legacy. However, Pakatan Rakyat has succeeded in denying 2/3 majority of the parliamentary seats for Barisan by winning 89 out of 222 seats. If we put aside Sabah and Sarawak, in Semenanjung alone, Pakatan has won 81 seats whereas Barisan has won 82 seats. The rest of the seats for both sides are from Sabah and Sarawak.
Seeing this number somehow made me realised that Malaysians of Semenanjung are far more exposed to the truth and to the things happening. Obviously, thanks to the Internet, the most prominent medium of campaign used by Pakatan aside from their ceramah. Those in Sabah and Sarawak, have not been exposed to the issues that affected the voters in Semenanjung. Those in Sabah and Sarawak are far more concern about the stability and the peacefulness rather than the high price of oil and cars because most of them do not own a car.
Besides that, the Election Commission is also stained by the indelible ink issue, dubious voters, foreigner voters and also the lost of ballot boxes. I do not want to touch on the issue of "BLACK OUT" since there are too many contradicting opinions that they are making me really-really confuse. So, I am taking a safe step and decision to not write about it in this post. The EC must come with a very reasonable answer to each issue raised because these issues must not taken lightly. For example, the issue of indelible ink. As much as RM 5 million is spent to buy the indelible ink, yet the ink is not permanent. For such a big sum of money spent, this kind of problem should not even occur in the first place. It is either the EC is deceived by the supplier or there are some kind of problems that we do not know in the process of purchasing the ink. We, the RAKYAT, just want the truth. Nothing else.
Barisan may have win the election but they have lost a lot of seats and this should be a wake up call for them to work harder. They should first clean the whole party from corruption. Second, they should start thinking a way to enhance the economical issue. After that, Barisan should stop controlling all the media. This will only make Malaysians more annoyed of them. Next, stop playing the racism sentiment. What is 1Malaysia if you keep on saying racist issue? Barisan should make a holistic change to ensure they can win the votes of 2.5 million young voters for the 14th General Election.
As for Pakatan, you may lost but you have increased the number seats won. That is a huge achievement too. For now, you need to do post mortem on the candidates that have lost. Is the problem lies within the candidate? Or the problem is caused by the EC? or the problem is because there are not enough campaign? Pakatan has to dissect the problems and resolve them smartly.
Finally, congratulation to Barisan for winning, hoping BN will be better in order to ensure they will win the votes of Malaysians again. As for Pakatan, though you lost, you have become a much better, united coalition. Increase in parliaments seats as well as state seats have shown the positive acceptance by the public. You maybe win in 14GE, who knows, right?
hahaha. that is it, my 2 cents on the 13th General Election.. Feel free to comment!
