Yay... semester break! finally... i really need a break... after all the chaos i went through just to finish my 

assignments... aish... IPG life is totally different from those who enrolled in universities...

IPG IS MUCH MORE COMPLICATED AND HARD~

but i like it here fo rthe fact that i received allowance every month... kekeke... others pay to study but i am 

paid to study.. YEAH!

anyway, this semester break is not a full break when i have to study King Lear by the great Shakespeare...

My LDV assg~ sucks ~

It is a shocking truth to know that the percentage of suicidal case among teenagers is increasing horrendously. Years after years, the percentage is increasing and never showed a sign of decreasing. It is really worrying to know that this issue is becoming more serious without any prevention. What actually trigger teenagers to commit suicide? Things that trigger teenagers to commit suicide are their family that is breaking up, they trying to escape from a situation that they cannot handle and depressions from school.

Family is a base element of teen’s life. Family is also a vital component of teen’s strength. Without the presence of family, to be specific, the parents, teenagers will feel that they are left out and lonely. Parents always think that their children are okay without then but it is actually wrong. Loneliness can lead to sorrow which will lead to depression.  Teenagers also will feel depress when their parents fights or argue. It will come to one time when they cannot take it anymore and they just want to end their life.

Besides that, teenagers often commit suicides when they want to break free from situations that they feel are too hard for them. For example, we can see this when a girl breaks up with her boyfriend and vice versa. She, who is actually totally depending on him, will find it hard to accept the fact that he have left her. She wills feel unwanted and that there is no reason for her to live anymore. With that, she will commit a suicide and end her life.

Other than that, teenagers also will commit suicide when they were depressed by schools. Often they will commit suicides when they obtained poor grades in their examinations. This may be cause by parents that expecting to high from their children who are just on the average par. Teenagers will feel dispirit and they will feel that they are useless because they cannot meet with what their parents want. This will lead to them to commit suicide because they thought they have made the biggest mistake ever.

In addition, teenagers will also struggle with their inner self issues. Many teenagers nowadays are living their life without any specific goal. They just go with the flow. This actually could contribute to the feeling of tire. Teenagers will feel tired to live their life because they think that it is tiring and wasting their time. It is better to them if they end their live.

In conclusion, there actually many factors that can lead teenagers to commit suicide. Be it even the simplest thing that we do not looks at, it can be a tool for teenagers to commit suicides. Everyone should actually work together to prevent this epidemic problem so that many teenagers can live the future. A child today is the leader of tomorrow. If they ended their life when they are teenagers, then who will be the leader?

Mufti Perak, Datuk Harussani Zakaria bangkit dalam isu ini dengan
membuat kenyataan akhbar bahwa umat Islam wajib isytihar perang 
terhadap pertubuhan IFC itu dan minta 50 ahli politik Islam yang menurunkan
signature sebagai menyokong penubuhan IFC itu bertaubat kepada Allah swt
kerana dibimbangi aqidah mereka sudah terbatal [3]. Datuk Harussani juga
minta kepada semua penceramah, semua ustaz-ustaz yang mengajar
kuliah-kuliah dan semua khatib-khatib, supaya jangan lupa cakap benda ni
dalam kuliah-kuliah dan di atas mimbar-mimbar Jumaat bahwa pertubuhan
IFC ini adalah musuh Islam di M`sia.

Tuan-tuan tau depa minta apa kat PM?...
Depa send memorandum kepada PM meminta 15 perkara berhubung 
dengan Islam supaya dimasukkan dalam perlembagaan Malaysia.
Antaranya: 

1) Setiap anak yang baru dilahirkan di Malaysia jangan dikaitkan dengan
mana-mana agama sehinggalah anak itu berusia 18 tahun 
- Tu dia tuan-tuan. Ini apa cerita ni? Maknanya, anak-anak kita langsung tidak boleh
dididikkan dengan cara Islam. Kita tak boleh bubuh nama Islam kat
anak-anak. Sampai umur 18 tahun, baru boleh duduk bincang di mahkamah,
tanya kat anak kita, 'Hang nak ikut ugama apa?'...Kalau dia kata nak
jadi hindu, maka jadi hindulah dia. Kita tak boleh nak buat apa sebab dah
digazetkan dalam Perlembagaan Negara.

2) Di dalam dokumen pengenalan mykad dan passport dihapuskan kolum
identiti agama - maknanya, perkataan 'Islam' yang ada kat mykad kita itu,depa
minta di'tiada'kan.

3) Mana-mana orang bukan Islam kalau nak kahwin dengan orang Islam, dia
tidak perlu masuk Islam.

4) Mana-mana orang Islam yang nak kahwin dengan orang bukan Islam,
mestilah dia tukar agama kepada bukan Islam.

5) Sebagaimana kerajaan Malaysia menyalurkan dana kepada masjid-masjid,
begitu juga kerajaan Malaysia mesti menyalurkan dana kepada semua rumah
ibadat orang bukan Islam.

6) Peraturan sekolah yang mengizinkan anak orang Islam menutup aurat
hendaklah dimansuhkan, kerana ia menghina agama bukan Islam.

7) Hapuskan mahkamah syariah kerana ia juga menghina agama-agama lain -
mahkamah syariah kalau takdak, habih la kita tuan-tuan. Walaupun la ni
bukannya perfect, tapi itulah satu-satunya mahkamah yang defence agama
kita. Kalau mahkamah syariah disingkirkan, masalah faraid pusaka, masalah
nikah kahwin, cerai talak apa semua tu macamana?...Kalau tak dak mahkamah
syariah, maknanya, perkahwinan tidak akan berjalan di atas akad nikah,
sebaliknya, perkahwinan akan dibuat secara berdaftar

8) Mana-mana orang bukan Islam yang masuk Islam, semua hartanya
dikembalikan kepada waris yang tidak beragama Islam.

9) Mana-mana pasangan yang bukan Islam, apabila masuk Islam, maka hak
penjagaan anak tidak boleh diberikan kepada mereka.

10) Sebagaimana program-program di radio dan tv yang menerangkan tentang
ajaran Islam dalam bahasa ibunda masing-masing, begitu juga
ajaran-ajaran lain daripada Islam juga perlu diberi ruang.

11) Sepertimana Quran, hendaklah kerajaan Malaysia turut mencetak bible
dalam bahasa Melayu untuk diedarkan di seluruh negara.

12) Apa istimewanya Islam sehingga ditabalkan sebagai agama rasmi di
Malaysia? ...lagi 3 ana tak ingat, anta boleh refer dalam Majalah Millenium
Muslim

Ini dia tuan-tuan, Islam diludah depan mata kita sendiri, so mana
sensitiviti kita terhadap agama kita sendiri?...Datuk Harussani tegur PM
dan 50 ahli politik Islam yang sokong pertubuhan tersebut supaya
dibatalkan pertubuhan itu. Tau 50 orang Islam tu kata apa?...Depa kata kat
Mufti Perak, 'Ni lah kalau dah terlalu tua jadi mufti, tak open minded
langsung!'...Datuk Harussani balas dalam majalah 'Millenium Muslim',
katanya, 'Di atas sikap open-minded rakyat Malaysia yang terlampau lebih,
maka inilah hadiahnya!'...
Ini dia kata-kata seorang ulama di Malaysia. Yang lainnya sunyi sepi termasuklah akhbar-akhbar, 
macam ada benda dalam mulut sampai tak boleh nak buka!

berhukum dengan berteraskan sistem pemerintahan yang diambil daripada raja
mereka Genghiz Khan yang telah mencipta untuk mereka undang-undang Yasak
yang merupakan sebuah buku menghimpunkan hukum-hakam yang diambil
daripada syariat yang berbagai, iaitu Yahudi, Nasrani, Islam dan lain-lain.

Dalamnya juga banyak hukum-hakam yang diambil daripada fikiran dan hawa
nafsunya semata, lalu dijadikan undang-undang yang diikuti oleh anak
cucunya. Mereka mendahulukannya melebihi kitab Allah dan Sunnah
Rasulullah, sesiapa yang berbuat demkian maka dia adalah kafir dan wajib diperangi
sehingga dia kembali kepada hukum Allah dan Rasulnya dan tidak berhukum
selain daripadanya dalam perkara kecil ataupun besar (rujukan tafsir
al-Quran al-'Azim oleh al-Imam Ibn Kathir jld. 2, m.s. 70. Cetakan Beirut)

Title of Short Story: WISHES AND DREAMS

1. Briefly write about the main character.

The main character of this story is a pair of twin. They are 16 years old teenage girls. Both of them are really close to each other. They always do everything together. They went to the same school. Their parents have divorced but still staying in the same house for the twin’s sake. Both of them already have boyfriend and they are so in love.

2. State why you like/ dislike the story.

I like the story because me, myself have twin sister. I know what really happen between sisters especially twin. Twin are unique because there two of them. Back to the story, i like it because it gave me some inspiration how to handle a very big problem. This story also taught me how to plan or organise a party properly. One should make a list of what they need for the party first. On should also pick a place for the party and confirm that they can use the place. One should also make a list of guest so that he or she knows how many people would and should come to the party. One should also provide an adequate amount of food and drinks for the guest. Besides that, i also like how the twin helps each other when they are in problem. They are really lucky to be born as a twin.

 
3. How would you prefer the story to end?

I prefer how it ended. I don’t think there are other better ending because the ending s portrayed in such a perfect state and everybody is happy. I love happy ending because to me one should end their journey happily. Right from the start, the twin have faced so many problems and obstacle. So, they should at least allow having a happy ending after all their hardship, right?

RECREATIONAL SPORTS in ULU YAM

INTRODUCTION

On 28^th of July 2011, COHORT 3 was set on a mission to go out for a camp in Lembah Bestari located in Ulu Yam. After weeks of discussion, all the committee and COHORT 3 members agreed to go camping there. At 9 a.m. in the morning, everybody gathered at the buses parking lot. Everybody is excited and happy waiting for the bus. Some are busy carrying the cooking utensils while some are busy chatting with others. As the bus arrived, we all settled in the bus we chose and we were off to Kem Lembah Bestari.

STREAM CROSSING

Stream crossing is a very challenging activity. It is an activity that needs strength on our hands and legs. This is because we need a full grip on the rope in order to cross the stream. This activity is held after the orienteering activity, near the camp base. Encik Amir took out a thick rope and he started to tie it around a big tree near the stream bank. Then he cross the stream and tie the other end of the rope. He first gathered us and gave out a short and simple briefing on the activity. After that, he called out every boy that attended the camping to try to cross the stream. A very memorable scene that I still remember until today is the scene where Faiiz tried to cross the stream. Everybody knows he is very self-doubting of his size. But he tried and yes, he succeeded in crossing the stream in two attempts. This actually makes me realize that size of our body is not important but the determination to succeed. Come any obstacles, if we have the determination we can face it all. Be it mentally or physically, we can overcome everything when we have the urge within our self.

RAFTING

Rafting is an activity that used an inflatable raft to navigate a river or other bodies of water. On the Friday evening, we were told to gather near the camp lake. The lake is located beside the hall we usually used to assemble. After everybody has gathered, Encik Noorizan invites one of the staff there to guide us. He’s an expert on rafting and every other water sports provided there. After he gave us some briefing on the activity that will be carry out, he divided us into groups of four since there are only 4 rafts available for us.

The first activity is we have to thrust a bamboo at the centre of the lake. There’s no winner in this game for the staff has said that he only wants us to get familiar with the water and the raft. It is actually really hard to paddle a raft containing 8 people and the fact you paddling with only 2 paddles. So, what we did is we paddle using our leg. All of us doesn’t mind if we are wet because we want to be the first team to thrust the bamboo. In the end, we are the first team to thrust the bamboo.

 For the next activity, we have to put a tyre around the bamboo. We use the same strategy to go to the centre of the lake but this time something went wrong when we actually bummed on another team. So we have some difficulties to get on the plantar. But we manage to after 10 minutes of struggling. In the end we are the last group to complete the task but its okay because we have a lot of fun.

JUNGLE TREKKING

Jungle trekking is an activity where is where you take your resources like tents, food and other articles and you trek [walk] through jungle. But in this case we only bring our whistle. We were headed by Encik Faris, one of the camp’s staffs. Before the activity started, Encik Faris told us to give him our full cooperation so that everything works nice and smooth. Then he asked us to line up and we have to number our self. After that, we headed to the jungle located in front of the surau. The trek is actually really slippery because it was heavily raining cat and dog the night before. We first have to climb up a very slippery hill. I actually learn a lot from this. We have to help each other in order to climb up successfully. Because you can never climb it up by yourself unless you are an expert in jungle trekking like Encik Faris himself. There is one of us that actually cannot climb the hill due to her body size. She was worried if she fails to climb thus slowing the whole team. But with the help of others, she managed to climb up safely.

There are a lot of things I learned from this activity. First, we cannot be selfish and only think about our self. We have to help others because we never know that could happen to us in the future. If we are selfish, no one will want to help us if we are in trouble. 

Reader Response on Lamb To The Slaughter

READER RESPONSE 

In the short story entitled Lamb to the Slaughter, written by Roald Dahl, I really amazed by the main character which is Mary Maloney. She as described in this short story, is a very obedient housewife. But she makes a really shocking move by killing her husband, Patrick Maloney, with a leg of lamb. Mary Maloney is a very smart woman in my eyes. Despite off she have just kill her husband, she still can think of a plan. Besides that, she is actually a very thoughtful mother. Because of her love to the infant inside her womb, she, in a blink of an eye, comes out with a plan.

It was extraordinary, now, how clear her mind became all of a sudden.  She began thinking very fast.  As the wife of a detective, she knew quite well what the penalty would be.  That was fine.  It made no difference to her.  In fact, it would be a relief.  On the other hand, what about the child?  What were the laws about murderers with unborn children?  Did they kill then both-mother and child?  Or did they wait until the tenth month?  What did they do?

Mary Maloney didn’t know.  And she certainly wasn’t prepared to take a chance.

From this cut, we can clearly see how Mary Maloney can react to the situation that just happens. It is actually amazing because in normal life, women will usually devastated and they usually can’t think properly. But on Mary Maloney case, it is a whole different story.

Next, the character that I dislike in this short story is Patrick Maloney. Patrick Maloney, through my eyes is a very ungrateful husband. This because, even though he has a very obedient and kind hearted wife, he still find another women. I mean, Mary Maloney is not that kind of wife who controls their husband. Besides that, Patrick is also a very routine kind of man, doing the same thing every day of his life. To me there’s no excitement if I was married to him.

When the clock said ten minutes to five, she began to listen, and a few moments later, punctually as always, she heard the tires on the gravel outside, and the car door slamming, the footsteps passing the window, the key turning in the lock.

But I got to admit that Patrick Maloney is a responsible husband because he still thinks of Mary Maloney future after he left her.

 “So there it is,” he added.  “And I know it’s kind of a bad time to be telling you, bet there simply wasn’t any other way.  Of course I’ll give you money and see you’re looked after.  But there needn’t really be any fuss.  I hope not anyway.  It wouldn’t be very good for my job.”

But again, he only responsible on the materialism side of Mary Maloney’s life. He totally ignores her feelings and public views on her, as a future single mother.

The theme for Lamb to the Slaughter is the betrayal. I chose this as the main theme because to me, it was the turning point of this story, which is the betrayal of a husband towards his obedient wife. Mary Maloney is mad with her husband because he betrayed her love and he betrayed their marriage. From my perspective, she doesn’t mean to kill him. She just wants him to keep quiet and give her some space to think. But as Patrick disturbed her, she took a very drastic move by hitting him on the head with the frozen lamb’s leg.

“For God’s sake,” he said, hearing her, but not turning round.  “Don’t make supper for me.  I’m going out.”

At that point, Mary Maloney simply walked up behind him and without any pause she swung the big frozen leg of lamb high in the air and brought it down as hard as she could on the back of his head.

You see, from this quote, it is clearly shown that Patrick’s speech that makes her kill him, that ignites the killing instinct in her.

The most vital setting in this short story to me is the living room where the murder occurred.

The room was warm and clean, the curtains drawn, the two table lamps alight-hers and the one by the empty chair opposite. On the sideboard behind her, two tall glasses, soda water, whiskey.  Fresh ice cubes in the Thermos bucket.

The next place is the grocery shop where, Mary Maloney goes to shop to make her alibi stronger.

It wasn’t six o’clock yet and the lights were still on in the grocery shop.

The issue that the author tries to bring in this short story is actually, the issue of women’s respond towards their husband who is betraying the marriage. From my opinion, Roald Dahl is trying to bring this issue which occurred rarely in the society. It doesn’t occur often where wife would kill her husband with a leg of lamb after being told that they want to leave them. Next, the issue of a husband who doesn’t feel grateful with what he have. Mary Maloney is a perfect wife, yet Patrick still searching for another woman, regardless she is pregnant.
